Orientation Seminar

Introduction and History
Dr Velkoff explains how we use a specific brain imaging technology called QEEG Brainmapping to identify the abnormalities and create a Drake Treatment Protocol to target that area. We see that everybody’s brainmapping can be vastly different, and the symptoms and intensity of symptoms can be different, but it is still called ADD. We look at the most remarkable patient we have ever treated; a non-verbal Autistic boy.

Symptoms
We take a look at an in depth analysis of the 14 main symptoms defining ADD and ADHD from the American Psychiatric Association. We also look at other associated disorders such as a Learning Disorder or an Auditory Processing Disorder. Following this we take a brief look at the complex symptoms of Autism and Asperger’s Disorder.

Brainwaves
The brain runs on electricity. The amount of, frequency of and balance of which can be abnormal and present symptoms such as those defined in the previous section. Here we learn about the specific brainwaves (Delta, Theta, Alpha and Beta), and how these need to be in balance for a healthy brain.

QEEG Brainmapping – Recording Brainwaves
Dr Velkoff explains how we use a specific brain imaging technology called QEEG Brainmapping to identify the abnormalities and create a Drake Treatment Protocol to target that area. We see that everybody’s brainmapping can be vastly different, and the symptoms and intensity of symptoms can be different, but it is still called ADD. We look at the most remarkable patient we have ever treated; a non-verbal Autistic boy.

Causes of ADD
The cause of the disorder usually has no bearing on treatment, but it is helpful to know some of the main factors in causing ADD or ADHD.

What’s Wrong with the Drugs
We understand that the drugs serve a purpose and are effective in managing the symptoms of ADD or ADHD, but we believe there is a better way. Furthermore the drugs have some very serious side effects that need to be considered.

FullCare
What does the Drake Treatment entail, and what makes it so successful? In this section we go in to detail as to the actual process of Neurofeedback and describe how this is an essential but not solitary component of FullCare; a comprehensive, non-drug, medical program for the effective resolution of symptoms of ADD, ADHD, Asperger’s Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Learning Disorders and Auditory Spectrum Disorders.

Success Stories
We look at a handful of patients who were featured in the media that had great success. This highlights the many different types of symptoms people experience, and how they all get lumped into the category of ADD or ADHD and prescribed the same medication.

ADHD Success Story

The program design for our son was really helpful and gave our son a confident feeling like other normal kids have. At the beginning we had so many issues listed that we wanted Drake to deal with e.g. hyperactivity, focus, following instructions, eye to eye contact to name a few.

With the following program offered by Drake (Neurofeedback, Fast Forward, and Captain’s Log) our son developed tremendous improvement as he moves forward in his daily life. Imagine you’re watching the TV series (Flip your Habits!). Everything changes as time goes by.

There is no amount of words or money that can explain the feeling that we feel as a parent as we walk out towards the close out of our son’s program at Drake.

Again, we recommend Drake Institute to everybody who has a similar struggle that we have undergone with our son. Try it and it really works.
